In 1978, during my studies at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts, influenced by the Zero movement and minimalism, I started with drawings and collages of lines and planes, which I systematically connected. In the 1990’s I made three-dimensional assemblages as a logical continuation of the flat surface. Although I keep returning to the cube as a basic form, I give myself a great deal of freedom in allowing romantic influences of American expressionism, nature, and the work of M.C. Escher that I admired in my childhood. Recently, the emphasis of my work has increasingly been on forming collections and making installations.
