“I like to explore the limits of the possibilities that materials offer and experiment with them. That shows in my work. I like to work large and monumental but also small and detailed. Moreover, I like to add an airy touch which can result in a poetic creation. Recently, I have been recycling materials such as paper, plastic and textiles, which is not always visible in the works. The series ‘Castles in the Air’ is a collection of buildings to scale made of kite fabric and detailed with embroidery. They are part of a multi-year project that I hope will grow into a complete city.”
