-De resten van een goed gesprek veredeld als souvenir- Wie kent ze niet? De achteloos ontstane vlekken, frutsels en kapot gescheurde bierviltjes: Stille souvenirs van de avond. Dit was de oogst van een hilarisch Hollandsch avondje kletsen met bitterballen en kaas. De houten prikkers zijn afgegoten in zilver. Ook leuk als relatiegeschenk na een meeting of netwerkborrel. Of voor familie om een speciale gebeurtenis te vieren. Vraag naar de mogelijkheden hoe uw vlekken / resten kunnen worden omgezet in edelmetaal. Op aanvraag is een wit tafellaken leverbaar met instructies hoe uw vlekken en resten te verzamelen.

De John Blankenstein Prijs is een object waarin de driehoekige volumen diverse stadia van ontplooiing en groei verbeelden. De driehoek is een archetypisch, universeel symbool voor het vrouwelijke,- en het mannelijke principe. Door de individuele driehoeken met elkaar te verbinden – manvrouwvrouwmanmanvrouw etc. - vormen ze een ontwikkelende gemeenschap waaraan de mens, ongeacht zijn of haar seksuele geaardheid, vorm, kleur en betekenis geeft. The Magic is found in the space that arises when not making something pretty; Then another aesthetic can shape: The aesthetic of seemingly random beauty

I am not looking to depict nature, I am trying to figure out what it is to create naturally. Meanwhile I hope to encounter the UnIntended beauty of the kind that can not be made, but can only be found. A cloud in the sky or a tree is never "a failed shape". I do so by following the developed 'parameters for growth' I found in nature and that I see in natural fenomena. The making is done manually in the old school way of goldsmithing and sculpting mostly with wax or found discarded materials. Sometimes I use digital by 3D sculpting and 3D scanning the results from my scavenging. It results in many mistakes and sometimes usable tableware, small objects and sculptural jewellery. Oxidated gold in various colors of my secret, or historical inspired bronze/gold, recipies is used. When people say my jewelries look like archeological finds, I see this as a big compliment. It should look like it has already been with us forever. The physical shape of the pieces is strongly caused by performing material- or technical research. My subconscious is a space I consciously use to develop the concepts while I try not to think to much and walk my dog in the dunes or make sounds on our piano. All comes together in an improvisational matter that can span years to mature into collections of jewelry mostly. I aim to make democratic designs after my autonomous concepts are formed. I like many people to be able to sustainably wear and buy my jewelry and changing my pieces with their lives, celebrating it. This connects to the historical function of jewelry as amulets and its commemorative aspects. It is a force that is interesting on more levels: by creating a believable amulet the wearer can be reminded of an intrinsic promise or a wish. How can one create a believable amulet, how is one able to believe it? This touches deeply human concepts as faith, wish, placebo, hope, ceremony, and initiation. In 2014 I opened De Salon: a space for dialogue and inspiration. It functions as a membrane between my atelier and the world. Here I test, question, make and finetune my works through conversations with people passing by. Inspiration is contagious.
