I Hear You, You Hear Me (60 min version)info
60 min. stereo adaptation of Yon Eta’s (Maarten Brijker) multi-channel sound-installation, as shown at the Premija Exhibition by Contemporary Art Centre (CAC), Vilnius. The multi-channel sound piece I Hear You, You Hear Me, explores the intimacy and physicality of sound. Specifically, the work focusses on the textures of the voice and its function within human connection and feelings of closeness during isolation. More profoundly, the piece plays with the idea of ‘being’ on a relational level between humans; we exist within the relation to one another. Building on a personal archive of daily— and intimate— sounds captured during lockdown, combined with voice-recordings and sound compositions exploring imagination, the work aims to reflect on the past year.

2021The School of Narrative Dance, Amsterdam TAAK / Public space Amsterdam, Netherlands Under the extraordinary circumstances of the covid-19 pandemic, artist Marinella Senatore brought The School of Narrative Dance to Amsterdam, at TAAK’s invitation. For this edition, TAAK and Senatore invited Amsterdam residents to join her in reflecting upon the ‘new normal’: what are its social consequences, can we establish (new) connections together, what is the meaning of public space as a place for encounter in this time, and how will it redefine notions such as individuality and collectivity? Which experiences and insights do we carry with us when we return to the old normal? For this I created in collaboration with Marinella and the rest of the team various soundpieces that the performances were based on. vimeo.com/572565739 Group

Take me 2 the feeling Online yoneta.bandcamp.com/ Dutch composer, sound-artist and DJ Yon Eta presents ‘Take me 2 the feeling’, his first official music release. ‘Take me 2 the feeling’ features seven songs that have a music box quality to them: soft, charming but also delicate, reflecting the fact that making each of them was a meditative process for the producer. These sparkling, deceptively simple and affecting compositions have arisen from Eta’s music making as a ritual act, one that has helped him process and reconnect with himself amidst a whirlpool of new experiences. 7 tracks, comes with videoclip.
