Graduation Show, September 2020 In the installation ZEN SUPERMARKET I search for a balance between the silence, calmness and wisdom of a Zen stone garden, as I encountered during my time in Japan last year, and the abundant colorful richness that you can find in a supermarket in 2020, with it’s endless rows of plastic-packed colorful shapes; to come to a new philosophy where these two opposites merge together. Trough this I try to create a new positive language that combines the eastern values and aesthetics with the western. Making a playground where your mind can rest from the dominant intellectual structures we have developed in our minds, to open your self up to a playfulness that speaks to your intuitive, bodily understanding of form.

Installation at Tokyo Zokei University, Japan, july 2019. being a sieve, some things fit, some things don’t what will stay? A reflection on the unconscious interpreting of our surrounding. The common vs the alien. How people are like puzzles and sieves. Inspired by food, architecture, tea ceremony. Playing with the boundaries between decoration and art. Please enter without you shoes and sit in this room with me....

A play between 2D and 3D. Translating the shapes in my paintings into physical objects. A research in translating the 2d to 3d. Shapes can be drawn with a few fast lines, but to make this shape in 3D from clay you have to deal with the limits of the material, that are under the laws of of physicality. You have to deal with corners, weight, size etc. What happens when a shape becomes an object? What presence or character does the form radiate?

Installation January 2018 From windowsill to bookshelves, thoughts behind the pans three-hundred windows of paint bake my eggs until they are tasty sunflowers the whole year gold together with my stuff I get old empty little pans of fabric the silent objects will keep standing but the people will come and go. Questioning the boundaries between decoration and art, between a home space and a white-cube space. What is the difference between a kettle on the stove, a seashell lying in a windowsill, a sculpture made by a child standing on a shelf and an artwork that I've made......
