Live Performance 28'00". During a live performance the original voice recordings are played back in a speaker system while the musician follows the notation as closely as possible in unison or in chord variations.$To perform this uncanny piece of musical score the musician will have to summon all precision from his musical practice, while he will have to put these trained abilities in an invisible power beyond recognisable human control.

Black ink impression rubber stamp Graphic size : H. 7.8 x W. 11.8 cm In 1978, Cha created a rubber-stamp ‘Mot Cache’ for the International Rubber Stamp Design Exhibition, Stempelplaats, in Amsterdam. In 2022, on the occasion of researching and translating Dictee into Nüshu, the artist simultaneously translated the french word and realised an English version of the stamp, which reads ‘hidden word’.

11 poems written and smuggled from deprivation of liberty, translated into English versions from their original bilingual texts, engraved on 22 press-ready lithographic limestone slabs - !e work captures the impossibilities of clarification, exemplifying the geopolitical power of poetry and translation. In traces of the untranslatable, the text attempts to unveil possible narratives and its implications behind the regime-critical publishing activities and the process of poetry-writing of the protagonist Gui Minhai.
