These Zig Zag chairs were realised out of fascination for the seemingly impossible and gravity-defying 1934 desgin by Gerrit Rietveld. This 2024 interpretation of the Zig Zag is scaled to 110% whereas chairs were build respectively smaller back in the days. With Sympathy for the circular use of material these pieces are defined by flaws in the wood, empty screw holes and repair putty, inherent to the reclaimed construction pine used for these chairs.

Installation consisting of the studio, a pully lift, a display rack and the artist at work. An extension of the Modular Studio, dedicated to the molding and casting of the studio’s physique. An attempt to record, solidify and display the ever fluctuating studio in motion. Several areas and objects of the studio were casted in plaster afterwhich they were elevated from the studio floor to the floor above. Once brought up, the sculptures were to be displayed in a rack constructed with the same modular system as of which the studio and pully lift were constructed.

A modular system of wooden beams and color-coded connecting parts, treated as the work as well as a place to work during my studies in Brussels. Ideally the artwork and the process become one. The work became a place to meet peers, to chillax, to explore and discuss the artist practice and to magnify on personal characteristics and pecularities.

Installation consisting of unique rocking lounge chair with integrated camera, projector, drawing board, and silkscreen prints, variable dimensions. I would invite a friend to have a chat, whilst drawing their portrait. Subsequentially, I would revise the conversation and make a second drawing, combining both in a silkscreen print. Edition of 1 + 1 AP, one for the friend and one for myself to keep.
